Sharlyn Steyman

Growing up with a mother who is a professional pianist, Sharlyn has always been passionate about music. She started playing the piano at five years old, and the violin in the fifth grade. She played in several youth orchestras throughout her school years and was the Assistant Concertmaster for the West Bloomfield High School Symphony orchestra.

Sharlyn also participated in the MSBOA district and state festivals throughout her entire high school career, playing as a solo violinist and in a chamber ensemble. She participated in the National Federation of Music Clubs Piano Festival for twelve years, receiving the highest possible rating each year. Sharlyn was also a member of the West Bloomfield High School Choir.

While she is continuing her education in other fields, Sharlyn’s unwavering love for music has never faltered. She loves working as an instructor for Mostly Mozart because she is able to combine her passion for music and passion for teaching into one job. She truly enjoys working with children and helping them to grow into skilled and talented musicians.

Seeing a child accomplish something on the violin that they never thought was possible is one of the best feelings in the world and Sharlyn is so grateful to be able share her love for music with so many wonderful students.
